Dustless Blasting in Houston, TX
Dustless blasting is wet abrasive blasting. We mix water with the abrasive in the blast stream, which knocks down the cloud of airborne dust that dry blasting throws up. It still strips paint, rust, coatings and stains — it just does it cleaner, which makes it the best choice for homes, HOA neighborhoods, storefronts, occupied buildings and jobs near cars, gardens and neighbors. We bring the rig to you, and the job site, access, setup and a water source are confirmed when the job is booked.
Dustless blasting isn't always the right call. Where the surface can't tolerate water, where runoff is a problem, or where the job is best done dry, we say so. The right method is decided after we see the surface — and some surfaces (thin sheet metal, soft brick, old stone, lead paint) need special handling either way.

What's Included
Where Dustless Blasting Shines
Dustless blasting is the right pick for homes, HOA neighborhoods, storefronts, occupied buildings and jobs near cars, gardens and neighbors — anywhere airborne dust would be a problem. The water in the stream knocks down the dust cloud, so the job stays cleaner and you stay on good terms with the people around you. For tight lots and close-set homes across Houston's master-planned communities, that matters.
The Flash-Rust Inhibitor on Steel
When we blast steel wet, we add a flash-rust inhibitor to the water. The inhibitor slows the rust that bare steel picks up fast in Houston's humid air. It's not a coating — blasted steel still needs to be primed or coated soon after — but it buys you time to get the surface to your painter or coater without it turning orange on the way.
Pool Sandblasting Before Resurfacing
Before a pool gets resurfaced, the old surface often needs to come off down to clean gunite or concrete. We drain the pool and blast the surface so the new finish bonds properly. Pool work happens with the owner's permission and the pool drained — we confirm the setup when the job is booked.
Pool Tile Calcium Removal
The tile line at the waterline of a pool builds up a crust of calcium and scale that blasting takes off cleanly. For tile line work the water level is dropped so we can reach it. We clean the tile back to its original surface so it's ready to go. For the dustless method behind this work, we use it right here — no need to go elsewhere.
Why This Matters Here
Master-planned neighborhoods across Katy, Cypress, The Woodlands, Kingwood, Atascocita and Fulshear have HOA rules and homes close together. Dustless blasting keeps the dust down so you stay on good terms with neighbors and nearby cars.
Care & Prevention Tips
Steel blasted wet is treated with a flash-rust inhibitor to slow rust, but it should still be primed or coated soon after — bare steel flash-rusts fast in Houston humidity. For pool work, the surface needs to dry and cure per the resurfacing schedule before the new finish goes on.

Dustless Blasting FAQ
Is dustless blasting really dust-free?
No, and we won't tell you it is. Dustless blasting greatly reduces airborne dust — mixing water with the abrasive knocks down the dust cloud that dry blasting throws up — but it is not completely dust-free. Some dust and overspray still happen. It's the right pick when the job needs to stay clean, like homes, HOA neighborhoods, storefronts and occupied buildings.
Does dustless blasting cause flash rust?
Wet blasting can leave bare steel flash-rust faster than dry, because water speeds up the reaction. We treat steel with a flash-rust inhibitor to slow that down, and we tell you how soon to prime or coat. In Houston's humidity, bare steel should be primed or coated soon after blasting either way.
Do you need to drain the pool for tile calcium removal?
Usually, yes — for tile line work the water level is dropped so we can reach the tile line. For full pool sandblasting before resurfacing, the pool is drained. We'll tell you what the job needs when we confirm the visit. Pool work happens with the owner's or manager's permission.
